Feeling back in control of my finances

After going through a divorce I was left with debt. With 2 small children and a part tine wage it was really tight. I had to live on credit cards to live for a bit and that coupled with the marriage debt it was tough. My mum who watches Martin Lewis like a borderline stalker recommended Stepchange. I was ashamed to need debt help but Stepchange staff do not judge, they made me feel that I could pay this off over time at a monthly amount I could afford. The relief after the first phone call was immense. I now have a realistic monthly amount to pay and no letters or demands coming through. My life is alot better for doing it. I feel back in control. I have savings for the first time in years!

I haven't saved in years due to thinking i really do not have enough money to save but I was very wrong. The Plum App has showed me how easy it is to do as basically ypu do nothing and the app does it all. A few pound here and there with round up and all of a sudden I've got £10 saved. And then it just grows. At first I use to check my Plum account every day now I just love not checking it and seeing gbwhat I've got every month. I cannot recommend this enough its been a life changer for me. I recommend to all my friends and anyone else who will listen lol Reviewed on: 26th February 2023
