Review of the Metro Bank, Business Banking:

Supporting communities.

We set up up as a small charity, Expert Link, in 2021. The Charity was born from, and is led by, people with lived experience of social disadvantage. We have a robust governance structure that oversees an incredibly gifted operational staff team. We are recognised as the best in our field. All other high street banks that we approached appeared un-interested in our business, at best, and put up obstacles preventing us from opening an account. Metro-bank sat and listened to our story and supported us to open an account with them. We have grown from approximately £50,000 in our very first year to expecting to turn over circ. £375k in 2023/4. Admittedly, we have had challenges around banking. However, when I have discussed these with other small charities who have accounts with different high street banks, they have had very similar experiences, and in some cases worse so. So why should Metro Bank get an award, because they listen and support those who need support the most. And because of that, helped to give those who need a voice, those most vulnerable and disadvantaged in our society, a voice. This voice has created national policy change benefiting our communities. We have recently supported those suffering form gambling harms to set up a new national charity. We will be supporting them to open an account at Metro Bank. We will be recommended Metro Bank nationally as a bank that listens and supports communities and groups similar to our own. Reviewed on: 10th March 2023
