I don't understand much about by finances, I get paid and it goes into my bank accounts and that is where it stays. I had a small amount of inheritance to put away in a savings account so I looked around for the best offer. It was about six months after the start of the 'cost of living crisis' and we had reached 10% inflation. I needed somewhere to save that had high enough interest, my money safe and where I could see my account. My own bank offered just 2% for one year fixed, less than half I managed to find. It was an article in the 'Money Saving Expert' website that pointed my to 'My Community Bank', best saving rate at the time, FSCS Protection and an online account. They matched all my needs. However, I was worried that I may have found a better rate if I waited but I am glad I took the plunge, they remain comparable and match the best interest rates on offer at the moment. I would recommend the Bank to others, the only reason they don't get ten stars is because it is early on in my savings and although unlikely, you can never tell if something odd occurs. Perhaps, if they continue to offer good safe deals in the future then they'll get my rarely given top score. Reviewed on: 16th March 2023
