Review of the Metro Bank, Current account:

Only a tiny glitch, still better than the rest In every other way

I was in a difficult place and was finding it hard getting my life back together, including opening a bank account, most places either straight out refused or put heavy restrictions and stipulations on holding an account. Metro bank were only too happy to help and offered me a standard current account without any problems, they even offered me an overdraft, which I turned down at this point and that was the only mistake I made, I had a debit card issued immediately and internet banking set up too I use the internet app most days it’s quick and easy to check payments and transfer money, the branches are open longer hours and seven days a week, I am severely disabled and find once in their stores it’s easy to access all areas, getting in can be an issue on occasion as they don’t all have motor operated doors and are way too heavy for me to open and pass through so they could check disabled access, also they have made it nearly impossible for anyone in Milton Keynes to get to a branch unless they have access to a car. My only other point of note is that, shortly after opening the account, I had a change of heart about having an overdraft so called up only to be told, as I wasn’t in full time work I could not have one, when I said one was offered at sign up I was told that was a one off offer, but I wasn’t informed of that, so there it is, some good, some bad points but overall they are a great bank with lovely in store staff Reviewed on: 4th April 2023
