My favourite bank: clean UI, budgeting & interest

5
Easily my favourite bank out of the ones I have tried. I originally switched for the extremely clean UI. The app was just a lot faster and cleaner, using has always been easy and satisfying (though pls give us a dark mode). They make it really easy to bucket/portion the money by adding secondary accounts that sit on a second page. So budgeting thinks, such as one for food costs, one for holiday savings, one for a guilt-free allowance etc is super easy and very clear. They've always had either the best, or currently the most competitive interest rates on their accounts from what I've seen. They also do some nice extras, like cashback or boosted interested sometimes which is really nice to see. Of all my almost 2 decades with Lloyds beforehand, I never saw any nice bonuses like that! Chase also have other little fun features that help you save little bits, for example a 'round-up' pot which, say you spend 34.13£ on groceries, it'd round to 35£ and add that 87 pence to a special savings pot that has a boosted interest rate. It's of course a small amount, but it add up and if just a nice way to encourage you to save. The biggest downsides about Chase for my use is that we still don't have the option to get a credit card! I still have a Lloyds account purely due to this Reviewed on: 2nd March 2025

Amazing app, convenient, easy to organise money

5
I was with a different banking provider before since I had been with them since my parents opened an account for me as a child. So, that was all I knew. I finally decided to try a new provider and I was really surprised! I genuinely didn't know what I was missing. Chase's app is so clean and so fast, the experience is nothing like the previous banking app I used. They are incredibly generous at the moment with 1% cashback, and really good interest rates. I adore the fact that you can open new savings accounts at any time and it's super easy to put money away into different saving accounts (with great interest rates) to sort them by purpose whilst still being able to move the money into your checking account with no delay at any time. I also love being able to schedule payments, I find that really convenient too. The problem with Chase would be the lack of financial products they offer at the moment, but they're still quite new to the UK market I think. They don't offer a credit card yet, so you'll need to use a different provider for one if you want to build credit. Also, I haven't seen offerings like loans, mortgages and insurance - my other banking app had that stuff which looked good if you need those things. Reviewed on: 14th April 2024

My favourite investing platform

I am using Freetrade's ISA and am planning to do so for the upcoming tax year too. Their user interface is nice and clean, everything is fast and works just like I want it to. Reviewed on: 6th April 2023
