Great idea to save from payroll deduction

I have been a member of this credit union for about 20 years(?). I pay savings in direct from payroll deduction which is so convenient, and use it as a holiday fund. Because I've never had the money I don't miss it at all. When I joined it was just as Oakleaf Credit Union was formed for Nottinghamshire County Council staff. This then merged with Nottingham Credit Union and eventually it became Notts & Lincs Credit Union. Reviewed on: 5th April 2024

It's the ethical thing to do....

I have been a savings member via my employer for about 20 years now, originally it was Oakleaf Credit Union. I am in the fortunate position of not needing loans but it's so easy to save with payroll deduction then why not? It pays for my holidays. I also hope by doing so I can help those less fortunate to obtain funding from a credible source when they need it, rather than paying exorbitant interest rates or worse still using loan sharks.
