Beautiful caring people

My mortgage is about to double. I'm on a debt management plan, which has been a life saver. I rang a wonderfully helpful lady. Halfway through the conversation, I explained if I sounded a bit confused etc. It's probably because my brother passed away a month ago and my wife had a positive cancer diagnosis the day before. This mortgage doubling was just adding to my stress and worry. Not only did she advise me about the help stepchange could give me. She went out of her day to offer me comfort, support and empathy. She found me contact numbers for Macmillan and a bereavement counselling service. By now I'm sobbing, like ugly snot bubble crying. Not a good look for anyone let alone a 53 year old man. She was so so kind it was beautiful. I can now concentrate on helping my wife get better. Thank you xx Reviewed on: 8th July 2023
