Credit card debt

I was extremely in debt with credit card companies, just paying off the minimum but never clearing the debt, till I could no longer even pay the minimum amounts. Stepchange negotiated a repayment plan for me to repay the debt, and take away the stress and anxiety. Reviewed on: 17th May 2024

I was getting further and further into debt and was maxed out on three credit cards. Until my health deteriorated and covid I was managing just. I lost one of my jobs during covid and due to ill health couldn't work full time. My mortgage was over half my salary, and I live alone. With council tax and heating I had nothing left. I was just paying the minimum payments then putting more stuff on credit cards. Step change helped me with a debt management plan, and though I still have little money for anything other than bare essentials, I can see a light at the end of the tunnel.
