Do their best to not pay your claim

I have insured with Policy Expert since May 2019 and I had a drain that it turns out was blocked by a crack in the drain leading to the main sewer that was, looking back, probably caused by groundworks done to level the ground for paving slabs in September 2019 but it did not become an issue until April 2023 - the waste water was probably seeping into the ground instead of the drain until that point. I reported it and the assessor told me that the insurer would have approved it 2 years ago but probably would not now. That was found to be true. The insurers own contractors even had the cheek to quote me for the repair before the insurer had turned my claim down. And let's not get into their Claim Handling Software - it is appalling. I asked to make an appeal against the decision but I was given no information as to how to do it. Do not trust Policy Expert if you ever have to claim. Reviewed on: 24th August 2023
