Don't touch with a barge pole

Our bedroom ceiling collapsed. They agreed to send a surveyor round a week later. I got a roofer to replace a slate that had fell off. The surveyor said the ceiling didn't come down due to rain damage but due to wear and tear and that the roof was in a good state. I sent photographic evidence of the water damage. They then said they still wasn't paying as the roof was suffering from wear and tear and the slate didn't come off because of high winds. Maybe a bird pecked it off!. Having said that everyone I contacted were very friendly. Taking them to the ombudsman. Reviewed on: 31st August 2023
