I have been a Barclays customer for 4 decades and felt extremely confident having annual insurance with Barclays/Aviva. That was the case until I made a claim for a lost 24hrs of my holiday. The airline compensated delayed flight but said I should claim on my travel insurance for the loss of the day and night of my vacation. After almost a fortnight I received an email with OUTCOME OF CLAIM as subject. I was refused compensation with a lame excuse that my policy did not cover this. It’s the only policy they offer and surely travel insurance covers something which goes wrong on your travels. I have replied explaining that this is not acceptable and I have received no reply.
I notice some 5 star reviews reflecting the sign up process. However, it’s the appalling treatment upon trying to make a claim which deserves one or no stars.
Disgusted and will leave.
