Excellent Service

I am 80 years old and had many experiences over my time in dealing with various banks and building societies. Some I rate as poor, some I rate as middle of the road and some I rate as good, but I must say in all honesty Darlington Building Society is best by miles. Every staff member in all departments know exactly what they are doing and about the products that they are providing. They have the knack of explaining things in a simple and easy way to understand on exactly what their products are about. What I like most of all is every member of staff are so knowledgeable and you don't get passed from pillar to post like many other banks and building societies I have dealt with. We have recently moved homes and they made porting our mortgage over very easy and with perfection. Reviewed on: 7th April 2025

Well done Darlington Building Society.

We joined Darlington Building Society in 2018 on the recommendation of a financial advisor here in Chesterfield, and we moved to Chesterfield in 2015 from our grass roots of Hartlepool. It is so nice for us to hear the Northern accent of Ann Walpole and all the other staff at Darlington Building Society. We not only have a mortgage but also 2 loans at very competitive rates, we have recently taken out an ISA each with good interest rates too, higher than anything you can get here in Chesterfield. It is also pleasing for us that we receive from them a monthly news letter, which keeps us informed about the local activities and charities that Darlington Building Society are involved in. Everytime we phone up with an enquiry all staff are able to help with any renquiries, they all have a good allround knowledge of the products and you don't get passed from pillar to post they are all able to answer. Two weeks ago we moved into another property and porting our mortgage was so smooth with no hiccups whatsoever. All members of staff are a credit to Darlington Building Society, which can only prosper on these foundations. Well done all! Reviewed on: 27th March 2025

Once again we have called upon Darlington Building Society to port our mortgage for our new home. We have known Ann Walpole for a few years now and everytime we have dealt with Ann, we know we will always receive a very high standard from her. She is always very professional and certainly knows her job and she is able to answer all of our questions so we have a clear understanding. Ann Walpole is a credit to Darlington Building Society, we have been dealing with Ann for many years, as well as being a very caring person with a lovely attitude she is very knowledgeable in her field of work. Also in her absence all other staff are very capable to take over the reins, all have the knowledge and are able to deal with any issues.
