I started a little over a year ago with Plum, it has helped me save money and got me started in investing. Without much work i have a portfolio up 24.09% with minimal effort , destroying any interest any bank will ofer. Understandable there are risks with investing , but the fact you don't get a massive charge for every investment you make, is a winner. On top of this , you don't realise that the money is going from your account to the plum account with their smart way of depositing the money, so it feels like you get money for free (even though you don’t) , it would otherwise be money wasted on other things instead of being invested.
