Inconsistent and unreasonable

Didn’t chase me before when a direct debit failed, I had no communication and then they put a mark on my credit file. Yes last week I got a call to say my direct debit failed, I questioned it and said it doesn’t normally come out till next week - but they insisted so I logged straight in and made a manual payment. Guess what, both the direct debit and the manual payment went through so it was a double payment. This is inconsistent and unfair, they pick and chose when to chase if it suits PayPal.
