From October 2022, after my partner died, I tried to keep paying my Credit Cards, and Loans, but it was to much for me to cope with as the income had dropped a great deal, so after watching Martin Lewis on tv I decided to go to StepChange online, I filled in the form, hiding nothing and within about a week I received an email saying my Debt Repayment Plan was all set up, it reduced my repayments by £377 a month, StepChange did all the negotiating with my 10 creditors too, my first re[ayment was in February 2023, I still have just over 5 years to go but I also have peace of mind and know I will repay every penny I used / borrowed so will also have a clear conscience as well when I’m done, I was reckless with money for sure and will NEVER apply for another Credit Card or Loan when I’ve cleared my current debts…thank you StepChange…Brian. I found myself in a financial mess after my partner...

I found myself in a financial mess after my partner passed away…not only was it an emotional loss but also a loss of income too…I tried to cope with everything for around 4 months but knew I just couldn’t…I was getting letters and falling behind, interest was continuing to be applied so everything became a total nightmare…it was on The Martin Lewis program I took down details of StepChange….the next day I went online answered all that was asked…filled in online…I’ve never had to speak to anyone in person which was a relief then some days later received an email to say my DMP debt management plan was up and running…I’m into my 2nd year now …I pay by direct debit and receive an online statement every month showing where I am with my 10 debts…it’s not cost me a penny to do and has given me peace of mind doing so….Brian Reviewed on: 1st May 2024
