About to slip further into debt

I knew that I was starting to slide down a slippery slope. I rang one of my, many, credit cards companies to say I was unable to pay that month - the staff member asked a few questions and said, I think you should get in touch with Stepchange. I did, and, after a session with the consultant, they helped me deal with all my debts, THAT DAY! Got a plan set up In 4 years I have gone from nearly £50k down to £22k, with manageable payments - but leaving me with an amount that is llivable on. Always contactable; helpful to enable changes to be made when circumstances dictate and never judgemental. No charges just help! Reviewed on: 23rd May 2025

Because of a change of circumstances, I realised that I would soon be defaulting on my financial commitments. The amounts I owed several creditors, were in excess of £41k. Talking to MBNA they said, take action now and get StepChange to help you. Best decision of my life. I got in touch and, within a very short space of time, had a Debt Plan in place which was affordable but has allowed me to live a reasonably, comfortable life, - without fearing letters through the door! I am nearly three years in now and haven't missed a payment. Had to slightly delay a couple but they were still within the time boundaries. What has struck me the most is that everyone I have dealt with at StepChange are; friendly, non judgemental and incredibly supportive and helpful.
