Awful insurers. AVOID

I went with Smart Wheels for my first insurance as it seemed cheaper. It ended up being £2000 for the year and it was a rip off! £600 deposit and then £130 a month. For what? For poor customer service, unfair scores and faulty boxes. They kept threatening to cancel my insurance if I didn’t let them check the black box... which I had never refused to let them do. They kept penalising me for speeding when I didn’t. The box is so sensitive that an emergency stop ruins your score. Suspiciously your scores get worse just before the end of the renewalperiod so you end up losing reward money. To top it all off... there IS a curfew even though they say there isn’t (11pm - your score drops to -10 if you drive past then) and they refuse to explain how they decide on how to score the different categories.
