Excellent App, easy micro trading, competitive charges

I had zero previous experience in fund or shares investment. However, having decided to take the plunge, I did do my research on new investor options available - and in particular, mobile app platforms which could make the process more accessible. Wombat's account setup is straightforward, the account management app is extremely clearly laid out - and most of all, the share and fund options available to investors are explained in plain English. Although the customer service is only available via email, I've found them very responsive. Keeping track of your investment performance is easy via a clean dashboard - but actually one of the best elements of Wombat is what I think are fair platform fees. Unlike competitors, Wombat does NOT charge for each transaction. There is a flat £1 a month fee plus 0.1% per annum on the investments - and as I make many small investments, that actually works out notably cheaper than on competitor platforms, where the transaction fees rack up if you're micro investing.
