Can't do anything online without filling out forms that disappear into the ether. If anything is wrong with them, they don't speak to you. Locked out of telephone banking after mis typing my security pin by 1 digit, once. No second try. Took over a business using HSBC banking in JUNE, and now in January of the following year, I STILL don't have access to online banking. I absolutely, categorically, hate this bank. I had a HSBC Premier Credit card with a Limit of 4k, my balance was £1700 which is less than 50% Utililzation. I have no missed payments and the card hadn’t been used for at least 6months. I was paying the minimum payments which HSBC set at £47 per month. I had been paying this for months when I received at letter talking about increasing my payment amount. The letter described a “suggested” payment amount which was only £63. Simply out of convenience I opted to stay with the current payment amount as it suited me and there was no mention of any negative consequences on the letter. Fast forward a number of months and I try to use the card in Tescos… DECLINED. I thought I messed up the pin so I called HSBC CC to reissue a new pin, The man on the phone told me the problem was actually because they put a block on the card as they consider me to be in “Persistent Debt”. Told them they set the minimum payment and they been happy collecting the interest, now all of a sudden I’m branded in debt. They came up with lots of excuses like it’s FCA rules however the FCA doesn’t mandate a bank that they must block a card after a certain time. However they “may” if there was mitigating factors like poor payment history. Long story short, they point blank refused to lift the block until the entire balance was settled. A bit of laugh these lot are, They didn’t even tell me the block happened or gave some sort of forewarning that IF you don’t do this then we will block your card by this date. NOTHING. You can’t even tell the card is blocked on the banking app, literally says i have an available balance still. It’s only if you try to use it won’t let you. To conclude the man tried to upsell me a HSBC personal loan to clear the credit card balance. In essence taking more debt to pay debt. Left hand feeding the right hand. Such cowboys. Despite being branded “persistent debt”. I went to Lloyds and they happily gave me a 10k credit limit card and I’ve not done a 0% balance transfer. Addios HSBC Read more Read less

HSBC Premier T&C Changes detrimental to customers

HSBC has recently announced that it will be amending the eligibility criteria for the Premier account, from income or savings of £50k to £100k. The FSCS compensation limit is £85k. This means that if HSBC goes bust and you have £100k of investments, only £85k is guaranteed to be returned. For people that may need to take a career break that means that you have to have £100k invested if you want to retain the account, but why is HSBC asking customers to take this risk. Why is the investment not capped at £85k. I think HSBC should reconsider the Premier criteria. Read more Read less

Life & Health destroyed, TORTURED, driven to SUICIDE & HOMELESSNESS by HSBC BANK Life & Health DESTROYED, driven to SUICIDE & homelessness & left for DEAD by deliberate, dangerous & disturbing, sick campaign of illegality, abuse & torture by HSBC Bank. My life & health have been utterly DESTROYED by a malicious, targeted/calculated campaign of extreme TORTURE, DISCRIMINATION, ILLEGALITY & ABUSE by HSBC & CEO (Colin bell - who was made fully aware of situation, yet chose to WORSEN situation). I suffer from severe health problems with a proven HIGH LINK to Suicide. Despite knowing this for many years, Hsbc went out of their way & BENT OVER BACKWARDS to BREAK THE RULES & cause as much DAMAGE, STRESS & PAIN as possible. This involved MISAPPROPRIATION of my entire life savings & then TORTURING me & my health issues for WEEKS ON END. Bank also manipulated their own complaints process (Beverly Hayton) to ensure I could not raise complaint & would be subject to their sick, LIFE DESTROYING TORTURE GAMES. HSBC & Colin bell (also outgoing/disgraced CEO Noel Quinn) could have ended this at ANY TIME; indeed, they only did so after torturing me & leaving me for dead - & after a social media campaign was mounted & they were threatened with being reported to the Police. HSBC have since admitted that they wouldn't have stolen my life savings, refused to tell me where they were & tortured me for weeks on end "if relations had been better". This is the most horrific experience imaginable - that has changed my life forever - & which I will not rest on until I have received full justice. HSBC: what do you have to say for yourselves? Absolutely Horrendous Treatment of a Loyal Customer!

I have been an HSBC customer for several years, with both a mortgage and credit card. I have never missed a payment to HSBC or any lender, and my credit rating is excellent (AAA). Despite this, I am still waiting for a decision on my remortgage application, which is now jeopardising my upcoming house move scheduled for the end of the month. The application was submitted at the start of December, and while I acknowledge my situation is slightly more complex (I recently changed jobs and have a limited company employing my wife), I have provided all requested documents, including employment details, bank statements, and proof of earnings. Some of the requests felt excessive, bordering on an invasion of privacy, but I complied fully. My frustration lies not with the due diligence process, but with the complete lack of communication or progress. Despite countless follow-ups, I am still in the dark, with no decision or timeline in sight. Even a decline would be preferable at this point, as it would allow me to explore other lenders. Instead, I am stuck in limbo, with my property purchase now at serious risk. This treatment of loyal customers is unacceptable, and I would strongly advise anyone considering HSBC for their mortgage needs to think twice. Read more Read less

Don't waste time and spend money with them. They simply reject that not covered as per policy wording or you've not contacted them or doctor when you're in abroad. Worst experience in my life! Please don’t waste your money with them! I had to pay upfront due to my travel situation and now I’m claiming the expenses but they don’t want to cover it just because I didn’t speak with them or consult the doctor while I'm abroad. I've all proof that myself and my son sick during the day that we're travelling including medical bills and consult doctor on the day we returned. This is honestly rip-off for a genuine travel claim. Note: I've to give one star because there is no opportunity to give no stars. Read more Read less

Basic thing like doing a transfer they are unable to do in promised time. They still use fax technology in order to do telegraphic transfers. Staff have no idea how long it takes and you get different information from every person and department you talk to. Compounded by the fact they are being sued by ASIC for failing their obligations many times, I would recommend staying away from this bank Read more Read less

This product from HSBC was one of my fav choices of savings account ON BNS SAVER, it was definitely my go-to for an online savings account. From the higher interest rate 4% STILL as this review come out when every other banks has already lowered their interest rate for saving accounts products. Although I believe they've already announced the date when the interest on savings will go down sometimes next year. I've max as much, use it while its there. Read more Read less
