Poor service and complex processes

As HSBC premier personal account holder I decided to go with HSBC business account. Regret it. Very difficult process from the beginning. Near impossible to get to the the staff. Internet banking some times does not work. Already thinking of leaving.

It is not possible to speak to anyone at HSBC, so on 31st March I made an online request to discuss my banking arrangements with HSBC.

I was informed someone would call me to discuss......

Today (16th April) I missed a telephone call (because I was on another call) and then I received a text message from HSBC, saying:

"We have tried to call you but have been unable to get through. Due to the high volume of requests, and to ensure we help as many customers as we can, we will be unable to try again. If you still wish to discuss your banking, please resubmit your request on our website"

Bloody jokers!!

I'm amazed that HSBC could be capable of dreaming-up a policy where customers are knocked off the queue because they don't immediately pick-up the phone, 16-days after making the request for that call.....

By its own actions, HSBC has proven to me that it is is not focussed on my needs. Consequently, it is not the bank I want to do business with.

As soon as quarantine is lifted, Im going to close my HSBC accounts and take my money elsewhere.

I would be unable to recommend HBSC to anyone.

I have recently experienced the worst experience with HSBC Bank and can now officially say I believe customers who have written such reviews about the appalling customer service. My story to get to the point and to keep it brief is the following:
1. I applied for a loan, I then was referred to an underwriter called Rene - she made it clear they are the decision-makers of the loan. She then decided to proceed with my application and asked me to hold, where I was left on for more than 3 hours! I then was told based on my credit report they would not be able to lend. However, the story shocks me even further when I asked her what exactly has appeared considering I know from my current score being over 900 my Experian report. She then states the report is from Transunion - who I never heard of until I went online and downloaded a report. I then came to find that all my data was incorrect and mixed in with my sisters who does not live with me and holds a different surname which was shocking - they leaked all my sisters finances to me. Then when disputed with HSBC they stated they will not override the decision - took it to complaints which was another disgusting service whereby you are dealing with incompetent people in Sheffield call Centre! who are literally robotic in their responses. I will now be getting my lawyer involved and have had discussions with the ICO as this was a clear data breach and due to HSBC's negligence has not been resolved.

When I opened my HSBC account "online," I had to visit the branch 4 separate times, spend over two hours on the phone to them, and register three times for online banking. I was told one thing in branch, and another different thing on the phone.

Due to their frustrating lack of cohesion I had to spend over an hour on the phone to customer services whilst stood in the branch - going back and forth between the counter and the call centre to try and resolve the issue with my application.

It took over two weeks.

Then to get into their app took even longer - I had to wait for letters in the post, get in touch with customer services again, enter long winded usernames, passwords, passkeys each time....

And then when I got a new phone I needed to wait for another letter in the post before being able to access my money. They have what they call a "secure key" system, where you need to generate a code through their app in order to make a transaction through their website. Which is fine until you misplace your phone...

Their website is bad enough, but their app is awful - most of the time the app just redirects you to the website.

Good sign up incentive and staff polite and helpful on the phone but processes not as good as Lloyds in my experience.
