Is this the 1980's...

Have to send a letter to cancel....A letter.....in 2022. Literally every other time I've cancelled car insurance to move to another provider has been over the phone and done without issue. Cancelling as they increased my monthly payment by 30%. Also having to pay £60 for the joys of sending the letter of cancellation. Shambles. Wouldn't use again, and would very much recommend against. They need held accountable

I have had a terrible experience with these people. I would say to anyone who has felt they did not hold up to their professionalism, or your complaint was not dealt with correctly... I ask all people mistreated or missold car insurance to conduct the Financial conduct authority. Insurance companies need to be held accountable. rip off merchants

I cancelled my previous insurance to move to Hughes as I was adding a young driver and they gave me a cheap quote , after paying them for 1 month they sent out a young driver form which I filled in and when they received it they told me they now couldn't insure me as I owned another commercial vehicle. they also told me it would be better for me to cancel the policy before the insurance company did so that was what I did, then these bastards had the cheek to send me a bill for £50 for cancelling the policy, basically if they sell 100 policy's online every week that they cant stand over and then charge you £50 to cancel they are making at least £5000 a week Take my advice they are rip-off merchants stay away Reviewed on: 27th November 2017

A bit disappointed

After being with Hughes for years and absolutely no complaints, they dramatically increased my car insurance this year even though I could find many cheaper quotes and they just let me go! steep car insurance for longstanding customers

Have always been happy with Hughes car insurance as everything is included in the price ie: breakdown cover, windscreen cover ,courtesy car, protected no claims..changed my car half way through the year and my policy rocketed by £280 bringing my insurance up to £610 a year..Very close to what i paid as a restricted driver 14 years ago, no claims no points clean driving record..Will be shopping around for cheaper when this year's runs out Reviewed on: 7th August 2017
