L&C are great - their linked solicitors very poor.

I have used L&C for numerous mortgages, both Residential & Buy to Let, and always found them very good. Unfortunately, their recommended conveyancing solicitors have been repeatedly poor, making the completion hard work. I would strongly recommend using a different, preferably local solicitor. Such a shame, as it spoils L&Cs great reputation. Reviewed on: 5th February 2026

An ode to L&C

We used L&C for our first remortgage and they were great. For our second remortgage, we were recommended a private broker with higher fees, but since my situation had changed we thought it was worth the extra cost. Turns out it really wasn't. The more expensive private broker was much worse in-terms of competence, responsiveness etc. We're now back with L&C for our next remortgage and they have been brilliant. Never going anywhere else again. An ode to L&C in Haiku form: Numbers fall in line; London & Country calmly; Turns “maybe” to “home”. Reviewed on: 5th February 2026

We had a very easy time sorting our mortgage. Tim was excellent and accommodating. Speedy at getting back to us and after care was also fantastic. We moved in months ago but L&C still help us out when we can’t locate documents or have queries. Reviewed on: 5th February 2026

There was guidance each step of the way.

There was guidance each step of the way. The initial phase of getting a mortgage is quite a lot and nerve wracking but my questions were answered and guided which was the hardest part.
