    I have been a member since the early 1990s when you had to visit the vicars house at the top of Green Lane Road to... I have been a member since the early 1990s when you had to visit the vicars house at the top of Green Lane Road to apply for a loan. I needed £500 to top up my bursary to study on a post graduate Social Sciences course at DMU. I was a single mum with four kids living on the Saffron Lane Estate, and this was the first ever loan I had applied for. That course enabled me to be a community educator and college lecturer. £500 changed my life and my children's. I am still a member knowing that credit unions are changing lives like mine every day.
