Terrible company to deal with. AVOID

Terrible company to deal with. Took out a months insurance for my foster dog then wrote to tell them the dog had gone to a new home so I needed it cancelled from immediate effect. No response so presumed it was done. Then I see payment has been taken so I write again, and again and again , a total of 5 times. I also try to call and there's a half hour wait each time then get cut off so I cancel my direct debit to them in the meantime. I then get an email from them saying they can't collect my payment! I then have another half an hour wait to speak to someone, eventually get through and go through the debacle . Apparently in the small print , you can ONLY cancel by phone - so you would think they would acknowledge or respond to your email to let you know that right , but no, 5 emails just ignored . So apparently because they didn't respond when I wrote to them and didn't pick up when I tried to call them , I am now out of pocket for w extra months of insurance I didn't use / need or want . These companies are sneaky , it's all a ( not so clever) ruse to get more money out of people by changing up the small print . In what world do you suddenly not confirm cancellation of a policy in writing ? I'm in rescue and I do not appreciate the underhand way this company has operated , nor the sneaky way my money has been kept and not refunded .
