FreeTrade is a nice app who's intentions line up with long term investing. They won't sell your trade data like across the pond with Robinhood or other trading apps more focused on short term riskier plays. Reviewed on: 9th April 2021

Monzo user from the beginning

I’ve been with Monzo from the beginning, joining in spring 2016. Finally a modern bank with a modern app, experience and infrastructure. I was first brought to Monzo because of the instant spend notifications, which at the time were rare with any kind of UK account. Since then, Monzo has been outstanding especially in terms of customer service. Using the in-app messenger, you can easily get support and in a much more comfortable way (calling is inconvenient and can be stressful) and receive a response within a few hours usually at most. Since then, Monzo has continually added new features and improvements. I started with pre-paid and moved my account to a current account as soon as it was available for testers. Simple things like having the senders bank details in the transaction make banking a lot easier, and Monzo has always been the fastest at transferring money. I have never waited more than a minute to send a faster payment whereas some other banks delay sending by up to a couple hours (and not transparent to the user) for “fraud” checks that seem to happen even to existing payees sometimes, very inconvenient. I use the payment splitting features on a regular basis to get paid and pay friends for small expenses. Monzo has matched and exceeded traditional banks in much less time.
