Review of the Triodos Bank, Current account:

Relieved to now be with an ethical bank

I changed to Tridos because I wanted to use an ethical bank and this was always rated as the most ethical when I did my research. I’ve been with one of the major banks since I opened my first account at 11 and have stayed with them out of habit but I couldn’t face my money staying with a bank that was actively harming the environment through their funding. I feel so relieved to have finally switched and to know that my money isn’t only not harming the environment and vulnerable communities but actively helping them. The fact they also have saver accounts available was another factor and it was so easy to open one once my current account was open. The only slight downside is that sending / receiving money isn’t always instant but I knew this ahead of opening my account and honestly, that seems like a very small compromise for me in order to have my money used in ethical ways. So far money has always shown in my account within 20 mins so it’s really not that bad. So far I’m really happy with the switch! Reviewed on: 10th April 2025
