Many benefits, and zero issues!

I've been using Paypal for a number of years now, and haven't had a single issue with the service (which is extremely rare). I mainly use it to pay for low cost items (£200 or less) rather than using a credit card for larger purchases, so I get the buyer protection; as well as the 4 months interest free option. What's great is that you can use this '4 months offer' over and over again on future purchases, unlike a credit card which will eventually lose its sign up offer. I have yet to use their customer service for anything, so can't comment on that. Overall a fantastic service that I've used for years, and can see myself using for many to come!
