zero regards to your consumers rights beware

1
Don’t be misled by the low interest rates – they’re just bait. Once you’ve signed the agreement, they show zero interest in helping when issues arise. Their customer service offers no meaningful support. I recently financed a car through them, which was bought under a distance sale, only to find that the dealer had failed to disclose several issues — including a large chip in the windscreen, directly in the driver’s line of vision. It was later diagnosed as a repair that should not have been done due to the location and size. These faults were identified the day after delivery. The chip quickly turned into a crack shortly after. After numerous back-and-forth conversations with the dealer, I was told to either claim the repair through my own insurance or meet unrealistic deadlines to reject the car and return it the following day — all while being over 500 miles away. I explored multiple options with the dealer to resolve the issue, but every single one involved me having to pay out of pocket for faults that were clearly present at the time of sale. By the time this dragged on, the 14-day cooling-off period had passed. I even considered trading the car back to the dealer for a different vehicle, but this would have resulted in a £1,600 loss in the car’s value, plus around £800 in costs to return it. All of the proposed solutions benefited only the dealer. I then approached Northridge to exercise my legal right to reject the vehicle within the first 30 days under the Consumer Rights Act. Despite this, the dealer objected — and Northridge offered no real support or intervention. The case handler never even spoke to me directly but still decided to side with the dealer. By doing so, they’ve effectively shown that they believe it’s acceptable for a dealer to sell a car with clear faults and no regard for Consumer Protection Laws — which is completely unfair and unacceptable trading practice. Now, I’m left facing the cost of replacing the windscreen myself — quoted at a minimum of £1,300 — while Northridge deems this situation acceptable and continues to support the dealer's conduct. Extremely disappointing from both the dealer and the finance company. I wouldn’t recommend Northridge to anyone — they may offer low rates, but their service, accountability, and regard for consumer rights are absolutely nonexistent when things go wrong. I will be escalating this further with the Motoring Ombudsman. please do your research before proceeding with this finance company read all negatives reviews which point to the same issues Reviewed on: 30th June 2025
