Never ever again

Easy to insure with but then came the claim. Heard absolutely nothing so emailed after a fortnight – immediate reply they had the claim and they would deal with it within 14 working days. Heard nothing 14 working days later I emailed again – immediate reply they will deal it within 21 working days. Heard nothing. 21 working days later phoned complains department. Delightful lady told me I would hear within 5 working days. Heard nothing. Emailed Chief Executive. No reply from him. The following day, had an email from Charlotte on the travel claims team thanking me for submitting my claim! She raised a couple of queries and asked me reply “as soon as possible” I replied on the same day – again immediate reply “responses to new and existing claims may take up to 21 working days … “ I’ve no doubt they will pay up – their website says 99% + of all claims are paid within 5 working days. – 24 working days later I have heard nothing. In my email to the Chief Executive I did ask him why I was being treated quite so badly. He hasn’t replied to my email. I spoke to Reactive Insurance, who handle their claims, who told me that their 21 working days not only applies to the initial claim it also applies to the time taken to respond to any queries!- Reviewed on: 19th August 2025
