Avoid John Lewis Home insurance at all costs

I have had the most horrendous experience and want to warn others. We had to make a claim and it got declined. Obviously not happy about that but putting the decision aside, you need to know John Lewis do not manage the claim - it is a Claim Management company called Sedgwick. There were numerous issues with them during the claim and I tried to get help from John Lewis but they were no help at all I even raised an escalated complaint but no use, even when I complained about John Lewis own service. Basically I kept being promised calls and then they did not call me. The final straw was my policy was up for renewal and it has doubled in price. I called John Lewis and they said it is because Sedgwick have marked my policy as having had a claim that has been paid out - you can imagine the frustration. I asked them to sort it but they said all they can do is email Sedgwick and get them to contact me in 5 working days. I tried to argue that my policy is with John Lewis and I am really not happy the way John Lewis are dealing with this and the response I got from my ‘case manager’ was, I quote - “you have to realise that if you buy insurance from us it is not the same as buying something from a store or online- we are dependent on our partners”. I could not believe it - the only reason I bought this insurance is because it is John Lewis and I do expect the John Lewis service!!
