Overall take: Abound looks strong on the customer side and pretty positive on the employee side, with the usual fintech caveat that it’s still a fast-moving, startup-style company. It uses Open Banking plus AI-led underwriting to offer personal loans and has been expanding fast, including a move into mortgages in January 2026. For customers, the headline signal is its Trustpilot score of 4.9/5 from about 20,700+ reviews. Reviews repeatedly praise the application flow as simple, quick, and transparent, with some customers saying funds arrived very fast after approval. That’s a very strong public-review profile, though of course Trustpilot skews toward people motivated to post and shouldn’t be treated as the whole story. For employees, Glassdoor is also positive: 4.6/5 overall, with 100% saying they’d recommend the company to a friend, and category scores around 4.5 for culture and values, 4.4 for compensation/benefits, and 4.1 for work-life balance. Comments highlighted a friendly team, learning opportunities, and good culture; the mild downside mentioned is basically the classic “small fintech/startup” environment and structure. On the business-health side, Abound appears to be scaling aggressively. Reporting in late 2025 said it had passed £1 billion in total lending volume, and in early 2026 it announced up to £250 million in financing from Deutsche Bank plus an acquisition of Ahauz to enter the mortgage market. That suggests real momentum, though some of these figures come from company-linked or press-release-style coverage, so I’d treat them as broadly indicative rather than independent proof of quality Reviewed on: 24th March 2026
