Promised £300 credit From PayPal dispute

I was sold a vinyl LP via PayPal which turned out to be A) not in the condition advertised at all and B) not the genuine article. I was not able to upload video evidence (as suggested on the PayPal disputes page). PayPal did not resolve this. The financial Ombudsman followed up the case and PayPal offered me £300 credit. Yesterday PayPal emailed me to tell me I had been credited with the £300. Today there is no sign of the credit on my account. I phoned PayPal this morning only to be told they have no record of the email promising the credit, or the dispute case. So, I now have to open a new case with the Financial Ombudsman in order to get the credit from PayPal, offered due to the original dispute. The agent even ended the call by saying I'm glad I have been able to resolve your issue today. Unbelievably incompetent and bad customer service Reviewed on: 13th May 2026
