PayPal Credit - Mostly Terrible - Not The Worst

PayPal Credit is good value for money in the way that interest rates are low for their instalment plans. However, their mechanism for paying off purchases made using their PayPal Credit installment plans is horrific. They make it incredibly difficult to view and track your instalment purchases, and immensely difficult to pay off specific purchases. Oh, and if you happen to have an active instalment plan in place - let’s say with 10 months remaining - and you happen to use their general ‘4 months interest free’ option to buy something, you will unable to pay off that ‘4 months interest free’ purchase until any active ‘instalment’ purchases have been paid off, meaning you’ll be hit with their higher interest rate on that ‘4 months interest free’ purchase. Being unable to pay off specific purchases makes the service really quite terrible. Reviewed on: 13th June 2026
