I’m an ex employee who showed loyalty by keeping some accounts at MBS. However I live too far away and given there is no online presence, unfortunately it has proved inconvenient to keep the accounts. Reviewed on: 7th February 2022

I can recommend Mansfield to everyone. They made things as simple as possible which was a huge relief. My policy had no penalty for paying it off early which is rare and they all seemed like the old days when customer service and no nonsense were the rules of the day. Brilliant all round. Disappointing experience in branch but good overall phone and postal service

When visiting the branch i was told that an appointment was necessary to open a cash ISA which it is not as you can open one by post. I had downloaded and filled in the application and thought that the branch would take the documents and pass them to head office. but without asking any further details an appointment at a future date was the only option offered. (My wife commented it was a similar experience to a doctors surgery unhelpful !) subsequently i posted the application forms in the head office letter box and the application was completed the same day, this was what i consider good service. When opening an account in branch, we try to do this in a more comfortable area away from the counter where we can give you the time and privacy required. We have seen an increase in appointment requests since the new year and unfortunately this means we don’t always have somebody available straight away, however we’re sorry you weren’t offered the option to leave your application form in branch and will ensure that your feedback is shared with our branch teams to offer a better customer experience on this moving forward.
