NBS is built on employees who understand the companies products and systems which enables them to match you with the best fit products and explain the reasoning why (in terms I understand!). With this in mind its not a surprise that in over 25 years of using NBS I keep coming into contact with the same efficient staff just doing different roles. Reviewed on: 27th November 2022

Pleasant and helpful

Not a very happy ending

We had a mortgage with Newbury Building Society for 11 years. Never had any issues during that period. My husband was made redundant earlier in the year and we approached you to swap our mortgage to interest only for 3 months whilst my husband started his own business and we were told that we would have to use his redundancy payout and savings before you would help us. We had made it clear that my husband’s redundancy was being used to set up his business. My husband previously worked with a colleague who also had a mortgage with you. He had financial difficulties and had missed over 3 years of payments and you fell over backwards to help him. Consequently we settled our mortgage with you and wouldn’t recommend you. When we requested a settlement figure someone contacted us to ask if you could help in anyway and we told you we had already asked for help and to be honest you weren’t interested.
