Prompt,friendly,straightforward

The application was uncomplicated,the approval prompt and the monies paid without delay. When I needed to speak to a member of staff beit by telephone or in person at the local branch, they were always courteous, friendly and helpful. Good old fashioned service. Reviewed on: 19th April 2022

Helpful right from the time of my first enquiry two weeks prior to my face-to-face appointment. Pleasant, knowledgeable, courteous. Sought advice from more experienced colleague when something not straightforward needed dealing with. Listened to what I was wanting to do and also made some helpful suggestions for additional possibilities. Subsequent confirmatory paperwork arrived thorough the post as quickly as was expected. New Customer of Newbury BS

I am new to Newbury BS and I find some of your processes and business ways a bit strange. 1. On entering your web page, I am immediately faced with a advert about "remortgaging". It is too much in my face, I have no interest in "Remortgaging" as I no longer have a mortgage. I object to such" in your face" adverts about things I do not wish to see or talk about. I suspect "remortgaging" is only of interest to about 10% of your customers. Why don't you simply have "remortgaging" as one of your tabs on the top of the page, then I would never use it, but someone interested in "Remortgaging" would happily use it get more information. 2. As part of my introduction to Newbury BS I was given instructions about making bank transfers into my Newbury BS account. The instructions included a bank account number of eight zero's 00000000. I find the use of such a strange looking account number very odd, as it looks like a "dummy account number" used in examples. I have queried the eight zeros and was told it is a valid account, but I do not like it and it gives me concern that the "ways" that Newbury processes things, may not be what I find professional and business like. I have only been a customer for a month so I am willing to give you a few months more to see what else you do that will ether disappoint or please me as your customer. Reviewed on: 19th April 2022

Our banner adverts on the website are changed regularly in line with the volume of enquiries we are receiving or activities we have going on, they change weekly or bi-weekly. At present we have seen a large increase in remortgaging requests due to raising mortgage interest rates, our mortgage members are equally as important to us as our savings member in order that we can operate viably. Obviously not all our products or services are relevant to all our members all of the time, so we may well have content that is not of interest to all members from time to time. The bank account is set up through our bank to process transfers as we are not a Payment Service Provider. We are working to make this less concerning as we realise that this can look unorthodox.
