A professional service with ethics

Really the only bank that puts ethics at the centre of what it does, while still offering all the usual services you'd expect from a bank. Reviewed on: 11th April 2025

One of few options for ethical and sustainable banking

I opened a Triodos account after the Co - op was bought out by hedge funds, and it's ethical future looked uncertain. Triodos has a long standing policy of supporting all the good stuff - communities, local businesses, sustainable housing and companies who are engaged with social justice, the environment and ethical practices. Most mainstream banks are even now dragging their feet over divesting from even the most environmentally and socially damaging projects, such as oil exploration, gas pipelines, mega agriculture involved with deforestation and loans to dubious regimes - amongst many others. Triodos made a positive choice right from the start to be different, sadly it still largely holds that position. Reviewed on: 24th January 2022
