Excellent application for savings and personal finance

In addition to offering a market-leading interest rate through their 0.7 % Allica Bank easy-access account, I have been particularly impressed with Chip's loyalty to their early customers - for example, when the above interest rate was reduced by Allica Bank to 0.61 %, as was within their rights for this variable interest account, Chip went the extra mile and fought hard to retain the old, higher interest rate for the customers that were already saving through this account and succeeded in doing this, demonstrating a rare level of respect for their consumer base. Their £30 sign-up promotion in late 2021 was also refreshingly no-nonsense - so many similar apps use this type of offer as a carrot to entice new customers, then drag it away from them upon reaching the pay-out date based on very questionable T&Cs, with Chip there was no messing around, instant payment upon reaching the 90 day post-registration date, and I was able to withdraw this money immediately - but instead chose to continue to save it in my Chip account, which speaks volumes. Based on my experiences since late 2021, I would highly recommend the app to anyone looking to maximise their savings. Reviewed on: 2nd March 2022
