Appalling Customer Service - Only Interested in Getting More Money

After eventually making contact via Live Chat they have proved to be only interested in extracting as much money as they can. I took out a home policy and declared a previous claim but got the year wrong by 1 year. They have now found the claim in the correct year through their insurance database and now say I have made two previous claims and want £100 extra. I have told them that I got the date wrong by 12 months and asked them to check on their database to see that there was no claim in the previous year but they have refused saying data protection rules don't allow them to do this. So if I took out a new policy today and got the date of the previous claim correct they would carry out their checks to make sure I had no other claims - so why can't they do this now. Because they want to get more money from me rather than doing the simple check that they would do for a new policy. Appalling service and money grabbing company. Avoid at all costs.
