A great tool for children’s financial education

I got my 9 year old son a Rooster card for his birthday; We both love it! Family were able to deposit cash for his birthday, which he is then able to divide into pots for different purposes. It’s enabling him to have a pot for cash at hand, but also a pot to save generally and separate pots dedicated to his passions, for instance Lego or electronic games. I also love the security, that should he lose his card (he is 9 after all), the pots outside of the main card pot are immediately protected from unauthorised. I feel it’s helping to learn how to manage cash, the benefits of saving and delayed gratification, and also to feel more independent. Reviewed on: 28th February 2024
