I was losing money to Revolut's fees

As a freelancer, I was encouraged to get Revolut to receive foreign payments but I've stopped using it due to the fees. I prefer to give clients the IBAN for my British bank account since there are no transaction or conversion fees there. It's annoying that I can't now close my account because it has a few pennies in it and I can't withdraw the pennies because of the limits Revolut sets... Reviewed on: 9th April 2024

Monzo has changed the way I travel and socialise

Monzo is great and super easy to navigate. It has changed the way I travel and send time with loved ones thanks to free transactions abroad, shared tabs, and bill splitting. It's so helpful that you can sort your salary and set up regular payments from specific pots. Really helps manage my money. If I could improve one thing, I'd make the shared tab feature slightly more intuitive with the option to partially pay the tab without adding further transactions. I've accidentally sent someone £100s by tapping "pay now" thinking I could just send a little at a time! Finally, I appreciate Monzo's brand voice. It's clear and helpful but unserious (without being too "quirky" like many B2C brands at the moment). Looking forward to seeing where this clever bank goes next. Reviewed on: 9th April 2024
