Useless, lazy, can’t be bothered to help

This is the second review I’m writing due to the rejection of a car now 4 months down the line. Startline are the most useless... This is the second review I’m writing due to the rejection of a car now 4 months down the line. Startline are the most useless finance company I’ve ever had to deal with. They aren’t interested in helping in the slightest every time you call you get fobbed off and told waiting on this waiting on that they just can not be bothered. I’ve been trying to reject a car now for around 4 months. The car was found to have a major engine fault within the first week of purchase and since then I’ve got absolutely no where with them. I’ve been without a car and struggling with 2 kids to even get them to and from school because of this company. They collected the car 2 weeks ago now and still each time I call to ask when I’ll be refunded my deposit I’m told they still haven’t inspected the car so I will have to wait. They’ve moved the car to 3 different locations and yet haven’t been able to inspect the car? Just more excuses not to pay me my money back. We have found the car listed on an online auction site so how it’s not been inspected I don’t know. Seems like they are waiting to sell the car before refunding me my deposit. Says a lot about the company clearly not one of the more mainstream finance companies as this isn’t how they deal with things. 4 months in I keep being told my case handler will be in touch and never once do they call off their own back. I’m pretty sure if I wasn’t constantly calling and they were left to their own devices this would go unresolved. Definitely wouldn’t use again and 100% would advise anyone else not to. You with held payments because the complaint is with the financial ombudsman service, which there aware of yet still send threatening letters.     AVOID AT ALL COSTS

    I bought a car through Zuto with Startline providing the finance. This was in August 2024, in Oct I contacted Zuto to report mechanical faults... I bought a car through Zuto with Startline providing the finance. This was in August 2024, in Oct I contacted Zuto to report mechanical faults which I had documented independent evidence of, Zuto stopped answering correspondence so I then spoke to Startline in December. I've not driven my car since November as it has a loose timing chain and critical contamination levels in the oil likely to cause damage, I originally wanted to reject the car but was convinced to get it fixed only to find the trader driving it around on the tracker even though it has documented oil contamination which can damage and wear the internal workings of the engine, Startline are refusing rejection, trading standards are aware of the garage and the financial ombudsman is now involved as I want to reject the vehicle but Startline are more concerned with the interest off the loan and protecting corrupt and fraudulent vehicle traders than actually looking after the customer. 5 months of not being able to use a vehicle you are paying for and having to borrow friends/family's cars to be able to get to work.     Avoid at ALL costs This company are just shocking when it comes to customer service. Used them to finance a vehicle I found from a... Avoid at ALL costs This company are just shocking when it comes to customer service. Used them to finance a vehicle I found from a dealer and that was the ONLY part that was not problematic. They lie to you and try to bully you. I have just settled my finance agreement with them and can now say that they are just disgusting people to deal with. Their staff think they can get way with lying to you about things such as the covid help with hardship payments that were clearly set out for them to follow. They think they can demand money before due dates. They think they can get away with contacting you repeatedly on the same matter even while being referred to the FCA. I lodged and WON two separate cases for complaint with the FCA about these bullys and would advise all others to avoid them! Read more Read less

    Very disappointed.

    Very disappointed. My wife bought a car from Startline September last year. We fell into temporary financial hardship back in March due to my boss... Very disappointed. My wife bought a car from Startline September last year. We fell into temporary financial hardship back in March due to my boss being unable to pay me. Everything was explained to Startline and we have all correspondence saved. Startline were not interested in working with us despite our regular and honest communication. We resolved our financial situation and made every attempt possible to clear the arrears but they were not interested. Startline then reported the car as "stolen" and my wife (who has mental health issues which they also know about) had to suffer the trauma of being boxed in by the police! Be warned, if you find yourself in financial hardship they have no interest in helping. A legal case is currently being built against them Read more Read less

    Shark Loan company avoid by any means

    AVOID @%$ AVOID %$%$AVOID I went to this organisation with my head high without good research aiming to surprise my wife for the car of... AVOID @%$ AVOID %$%$AVOID I went to this organisation with my head high without good research aiming to surprise my wife for the car of her dream, it was all perfect at the beginning, but when I was about to signed contract/warranty they told me its less than 3 months, also they are based in Hull if i remembered it correctly 134 miles away from Northampton, on any faulty i have to take it back to them, one big red flag, the car worth £15000 i manage to pay to £11000 and COVID hit I lost my job, they didn't want to know typical shark company, Poor customer services, no Sympathy, I did request to reduce the amount i pay per month, they didn't care, They ended up take me to court I represent myself they come with experience lawyer in the field to defend Shark Loan company, they won the case I lost £11000, and also the car was worth £6000 when they took of me, and they ended up selling it for £3000 that means i still need to pay more money to them. so if you value your money, time, and good mentality avoid this shark loan company with poor customer services Read more Read less
