Steer clear

I wouldn't give this company any stars and I'm amazed that they have not been investigated. I am currently seeking advice from the Financial Ombudsman with regard to my application....

I honestly could not fault VIDA at all. Yes, it probably took a little bit longer than most, but what do you expect when you are going to a specialist lender The communication I had with them and my broker had with them was over and above what I expected. I could not fault the customer service that I received from them, we are stupidly happy!

Our case went over to appeal in which the senior underwriter and senior members of staff were committed to helping us and needed to know more details. Which when they are lending a large sum of money, they need to do those checked! I will be recommending VIDA to anyone I can if they are in the same situation as we were. Thank you VIDA for making our dream home, a reality.

Absolutely complete time wasting company. We submitted an application in September and have had endless hold ups, delays and no communication. Kept asking for additional information even though it was originally supplied and just kept saying we’d have to wait 2 weeks each time for updates. Even got to the point where they instructed the valuation after 3 months as the sellers were getting very frustrated and the survey was done today and now they’ve decided the answer to the mortgage is a no. Not based on the survey as the house is only 5 years old but based on the information we have supplied which they’ve had for weeks. Ridiculous we will now lose the house we’ve been waiting to buy and the whole process has been incredibly stressful. Total waste of time this company. The mortgage we wanted was 1/3 of the price of the house we was buying so they had no risk as the equity was twice as much as the mortgage and our earnings was more than enough to cover the payments which we provided evidence of numerous times so there is no logic in why they’ve turned down the mortgage.
My advice is don’t waste any time with this company they will leave you hanging for months with endless reasons and then say no in the end.

We had a 2 year fixed rate mortgage with Vida which expired in June. We asked whether we could switch products but they informed us that they did not have any products, hence we have been paying their SVR which is over 6%
I have checked their website and although they have new mortgage rates they will not allow us to remortgage as these products are only for new customers. ( Unfortunately, due to the pandemic we are finding lenders extremely cautious, hence we are stuck with Vida)
This is day light robbery. I would never recommend Vida to anyone. Please stay away. You will be disappointed.

Greedy crooks Hi I been with Vida for over 2 years
Hi I been with Vida for over 2 years , I not happy with service . Further to this my Vida product has ended , I tried to do a product change for 9 months , calling asking for change. But they said no product changes at the moment

The lack of product change ,this has put me in a difficult situation , because of the virus I was unable to Work self employed with 4 children

I understand the mortgage terms conditions , but because of the virus it affected my financials. If there was no virus I would not be writing this review .Vida should respect the customer and not be so greedy and do a product change as the interest rate is at a very low and I’m paying 6.14 after product change finished. Further to this I have to pay £1000 more on my monthly payments.

There must be other people in the same situation Because of Vida I await for Vida reponse to this Situation.

I trying to get a new mortgage it’s very difficult because of the Economic situation at the moment. It be better for me Vida to help customers in there time of need and not take advantage of the situations , if you don’t change your policy of product Change you will put many customers in a bad situation.

Further to this Vida took 8,000 in application fees for a 2 year product also, lookIng at the review I’m not the only person in the situation

See title crooks below this is a copy of another Vida customer in the same situation

Crooks
Crooks, simple as that. I paid them £8000 in fees two years ago for a 2-yr fix at 3.14%. Now that is coming to an end, they are jacking it up to 6.64% variable and say they are not offering fixed-rate products to existing customers. Thus my repayments will jump £1,000 a month or so. Anyone out there thinking of taking a mortgage with these guys should think again. They are rip-off merchants!!!

Thank you

Please, whatever you do never take out a mortgage with this company. I recently applied for the standard covid-19 payment holiday because my tenant was struggling, they approved it, and now have recorded a missed payment against my credit file. I called them, explained the situation, was promised a call back and almost a week later have they called me? Of course not! I'm sure they'll be constructing some ridiculous excuse to justify screwing up my credit report at such a difficult time for everyone around the country

We completed on our home today! Thank you Vida homeloans for getting us on the ladder and accepting us when no one else would.
If you do go with vida it does take a little long than say a high street bank, but vida is giving you a lot of money so they have to make sure they can trust you to pay it back.
Thanks for trusting me vida homeloans, I won’t let you down!

Applied for a mortgage with Vida through a financial advisor firstly they wouldn’t lend the amount I wanted to borrow only 5k more over a longer term .over 3 months later and 3 days before myself and my 2 children where due to move house they rejected my mortgage on grounds of affordability this was despite me reducing my mortgage by nearly half and my monthly payments reducing also , had never missed a payment on my previous mortgage, luckily for us it was a small mortgage and family stepped in and gave me the money required to buy my house , now think I may have had a lucky escape from this company .

1. They force borrowers to use vida's solicitors! Evident whose interests the solicitors look after.
2. Use the notoriously scum surveyors e.surv who consistently undervalue properties, so vida gains equity from the outset while borrowers loose and they have to use additional capital that may not have from the outset.
3. they require borrowers to insure the property before completion under "normal terms and conditions". The property is normally undervalued by e.surv that makes it very difficult to insure the property under "normal terms and conditions" (many insurers refuse). In this case vida refuse the mortgage (this after having gone through all the process and having spend legal, valuation and any other fees) but the borrower is obliged to buy the property for which has not mortgage or capital any more!
Avoid avoid avoid! They pay high commissions to brokers to push them to clients. Do not even discuss this, just walk away!

Please don't ever think about going with this bank!
Please are rude, un-competent, lazy and slow there. We have been waiting 4 months (!) to get a mortgage and they were giving our case from one employee to another, so we had to re-send stuff every month. It's a miracle that our seller has been waiting so long for us - in any other case we would loose the house. There is no contact with them, no chance to follow up with your case - they will drive you insane. I swear I was close to going to some newspaper with this. Please don't make the same mistake I did. Supplied all paperwork, took fee, 6 weeks later they decided to offer me a quarter of original amount despite my score being stable and on the UK average.  Offered this at a horrendously high rate, lost house I wanted to purchase, went with another lender that agreed within a week but now need to find a property as lost the one I had my heart set on. They should be closed down, total shambles. It also took ages for my refund to come through, had to pay another valuation fee when I went with a different lender. Awful awful experience.

Our buyers applied for a mortgage with this shambles of a company about 10weeks ago. The initial survey/valuation report was done about a week later. 8 weeks plus on we are still waiting to find out if they have their mortgage offer. They have chased them, the broker has chased them, but still no nearer. We have lost the house we were going to buy whilst waiting for our buyers. As far as I can see they are a waste of time. I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy! If you are a seller make sure your buyer isn't using this company!
