A good service, with occasional gremlins

Yolt is good. After open banking came in, lots of old money management and account aggregation services closed down. Yolt was the first new generation one to pop up, letting you connect all your accounts in one place. It didn’t have all the features I previously enjoyed to being with, but has gradually gotten better as time has gone by. The app has issues every month or so when updates seem to cause clash with account syncing, meaning it either doesn’t work for a few days or needs you to unlink and reconnect your account, which is a bigger problem than it sounds as you then have to go back through and tag all your transaction types (sometimes over 12 months of payments need to be opened, checked, tagged and changed) to get your budgets to reflect correctly. When you report issues, you do not receive responses from customer services, it is quite an impersonal service. The fixes do get made, sometimes weeks later, but nobody acknowledges you have been in touch or gives you advice, or even lets you know they are working on it. Yolt recently pivoted to become a mastercard and savings service and is dominated by these features, which unfortunately you were not able to opt out of, and the original purpose of the app doesn’t feel like it is getting as much attention as the new features, and I worry that these accounts will eventually have fees added to them which would result in me having to stop using the service as I do not require these accounts, and I would be sad to lose access to the original syncing features I signed up for. Many of the promised roadmap items such as multiple accounts with one provider or expanding available banking providers have not been delivered yet more than 2 years after they were communicated. All in all, Yolt is definitely Good, I use it almost everyday, and I recommend it for account checking and budgeting. It would be Great if you could opt of the enforced new accounts they added, and it would be Excellent if they improved the pace of delivery of features on the development roadmap, fixed issues faster and improved customer communications. Fantastic personal finance app

The Yolt app allows me to keep track of all of my personal finance under one simple to use app. The connection process is simple and the way that the app is set out is really easy to use. The customer service I have received for any issues faced has been fast, clear and effective in each circumstance. I would happily recommend this app to anyone. Reviewed on: 31st January 2021

The Yolt app allows me to see all my transactions in one place which makes life much easier for reconciliation and seeing where I can save funds. The app has lots of important information but is very smooth and efficient.
