Community bank for the community!

Ive always had a positive experience with community bank loans. The process is easy, the approval time is usually within a few days which is handy when you really need it. The process provides all information in regards to any interest fees, schedule of payment to pay back and how much you will save within the process. The fact you save whilst you pay back your loan is amazing for me. I like the way the community bank is actually for the community, even when paying back the loan once you have reached more than the loan amount in sales you can withdraw funds if you need too. I like that I can save while paying back a loan was easy to set up and it’s no hassle as comes out of my salary, it really helped when I was behind on payments when I switched jobs. Was a stress saver for me it took a worry away while training at my new role. Reviewed on: 14th May 2026

Good service overall, but more human support needed.

I applied for a loan recently and overall the process was straightforward, but I would have appreciated the opportunity to speak with an adviser directly rather than relying entirely on an automated system. As a credit union, I expected a more personalised and community-focused approach, especially because some financial situations cannot be fully explained through online forms alone. For example, my council tax payment is shown as £186 per month from my account because I am the main account holder, but in reality my partner contributes to the majority of this amount and transfers me money every month. My actual personal contribution is around £80. In addition, my salary varies because I work on a rotating schedule with six weeks of shifts followed by two weeks off. My income therefore changes from month to month, so I provided an average figure in my application. These kinds of details can make an important difference when assessing someone’s financial situation, and I feel it would be helpful if applicants had more opportunity to explain them directly to a person.
