Highly unscrupulous company.

Following many letters re Marriage Allowance which were thrown out as I an fully aware that HMRC would contact us directly and not use a third party claim firm. We received threatening letters saying that failure to pay £240 fee for them having allegedly claimed £500 on our behalf (£500 was never paid into our account). My 80 year old and unwell husband panicked and paid the £240. We did not sign up to any contract with HidendaTax. No response to emails or message left on answerphone. Due to them being a registered limited company on Companies House the Bank could not help. I have raised a complaint through trading standards. Company directors, Lee Paul Mellor, Gaynor Louise Birchall or Mellor, Shabeena Ahmed is the solicitor named on Hindenda LLP. Reviewed on: 12th April 2025

Disgraceful Company/Director's preying on vulnerable people.

Hidenda Tax (part of Harwood Claims Management/same Director Lee Mellor) have been sending my elderly parents threatening letters and emails stating they owe £300 to cancel a claim they never signed up for or agreed too. I have told my parents to ignore all communication from them, which they have done, and I have written directly to them to tell them to stop the harassment but still the letters and emails keep coming! They are now threatening to take my parents to court if they don't pay £300 or fill out the forms to claim for marriage tax allowance. They provided a copy of their T&C's with a signature (as their proof) which we do not recognised and can only assume has been forged. We have now reported this Company to the FOS. I really can't imagine why this Company has so many positive reviews on here (I read some of the reviewers suggested that they were told by Hidenda they must score them 4 stars or above!) however a quick check on Google will tell you what you need to know about this Company. I guess we will have to wait and see if they follow through and take us to court. UPDATE: I wrote back to Hidenda Tax telling them to either take us to court (which we would defend) or stop harassing my parents. Letter then received from them dropping the whole thing. If you find yourself in a similar situation i.e. you know you have not signed/agreed to use their services then please do not be intimidated into paying them a penny.
