A Nightmare for My New Business - AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

As a new business, choosing ANNA Money was a colossal mistake. My business account was blocked for a shocking 13 days immediately after receiving initial payments, trapping my lawful funds and completely paralyzing my operations. Their "final response" for closing my account falsely claimed I didn't provide necessary documents. This is an outright lie! I provided EVERY SINGLE DOCUMENT THEY ASKED FOR, PROMPTLY AND DILIGENTLY. The absolute absurdity? I've since successfully opened multiple business accounts with other reputable banks. They asked for the EXACT SAME DOCUMENTS I gave to ANNA Money, and they were all perfectly happy to offer me their services. This clearly proves ANNA Money's internal processes are broken, unprofessional, and frankly, incompetent. This ordeal caused immense personal stress, severely damaged my business's reputation (as I couldn't pay my partners), and wasted valuable time. Their customer service was a loop of generic, unhelpful responses, utterly disregarding the crisis they created. Do NOT trust their Google rankings or any claims of being a top provider. My experience shows their true colours. I have reported ANNA Money to both the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) and the Payment Systems Regulator (PSR) due to their unacceptable conduct. Do NOT choose ANNA Money. My experience was traumatic, insulting, and devastating for my new venture. They are unfit to provide banking services, and I wouldn't wish this nightmare on anyone. Unreliable and unjust

As a sole director temporarily abroad, I was shocked to find my business account frozen without any clear deadline or warning after a request for routine documents. Despite explaining my situation and limited access while overseas, Anna Bank proceeded to block incoming payments, including a critical DWP benefit payment that took months to arrange. This action was taken with no regard for fair notice, FCA principles, or the serious consequences to my tenants and business operations. Customer service has been unhelpful and opaque about their procedures. Unjustified, disproportionate, and frankly careless treatment of small business clients. I will be escalating to the Financial Ombudsman and Tribunal Services. Avoid if you need reliability or accountability. Reviewed on: 11th June 2025

This Bank is absolutley useless in dealing with companies. I have been trying to makle a payment internationally. They have procrastinated for a week, even wanted me to justify how the payment fitted with my businesses stated objectives, and then declined to make the payment. After setting up a new Ltd I was offered an account with Anna. I opened it, all nice and straightforward. Monies credited. Only after funds were going into my account did the inquisitions start. I have forwarded as much as I have, I do not have all the info they require and have told them this, some of it is not relevant and this things are inherent with only this bank and not required by others which suggests that its an internal policy to require these specific things. They have now frozen my account and it remains frozen with my business funds in it and no access to be able to use or make business decisions. I am being treated like a criminal although I believe that this country people were innocent until proven guilty and of course I am guilty of nothing. They can not articulate what they suspect I am doing which would jeopardise mine or anyone elses financial security. And the reason for this is that no reason exists, I am just not able to provide what they need and now having experienced the diabolical care from them over there faceless soulless app I do not want to bank with them any further. I have asked them to close the account and return the funds if they have any concrete reason why I am doing anything unlawful, but they will not. I have asked for them to call me as I am not getting replies by the chat as they have nothing more to say. The fact is that my business funds are now being held hostage for as long as they feel they want to take. This has huge repercussion but they do not seem to care, hiding continually behind flimsy excuses for why they can not do anything. It seems that it is acceptable if they can not perform certain things but the fact I can not supply these bits of information means they can abuse their power. They are ignoring all requests. I was not advised what information I would need to provide when I set up the account and only found out retrospectively. They keep charging me monthly fees after i stopped my subscription and deleted the account

Customer service keep replying "the team is looking into this". No action being taken. The only way out of this is either small claims court or changing my account number. This is not a company you should trust with your bank details. Reviewed on: 28th June 2023

Anna money illegally keeps 56K of our money

Our company, Pier Recruitment LTD has over 56 000 GBP blocked at Anna Money. That money is payment for over 140 workers our company has in custody. Money has been in pending for the last period and they asked us for payslips and invoices. We provided them with al the requested documents and even worst, they blocked our account with all that money. Not only that they blocked our account, but also they refuse to provide us with bank statement from our account, citing that they are "not allowed to discuss details of our suspended account". To make it easier: 1. They suspened our account without notice 2. They keep all the money of our workers, illegally, without allowing us to withdraw them 3. They don't discuss anything (via phone, email, chat etc.). Literarlly no chance of dialogue or a simple conversation. We have a genuine reason to believe that this issue happens because our director is a Romanian national, based in the UK and recently Anna Money is not accepting Romanian passport as proof of identification. Any company in the world accepts passport (and Romanian passport, which is not an internationally sanctioned country anywhere), however they accept proof of identification for Russian passport (which currently is placed under international sanctions). This issue is not stated anywhere in their terms and conditions, but we've been brought into attention by fellow Romanians. We're not claiming by any means Anna Money is a racist company, however, something is really finshy about they way they do business. Given these circumstances, unless we explicitly hear from Anna Money and they contact us to discuss the exact issues on our account, we reserve the right to address to the police and further to the Financial Ombudsman Service to recover our illegally detained funds.
