Furthermore, I then applied for an additional user card which was even more difficult. I used the card for just one transaction and have now shredded the card. Trying to set up a direct debit for the repayments was sooo time consuming, so I decided to pay the card off and even that was hard work. I then tried Barclaycard and the experience of applying and setting up payments was an absolute breeze. Their joint account offered 2% interest while other banks were offering 4%. Transferring money to my stocks and shares ISA was always a problem as sometimes i had to repeat the process because something crashed mid way. I did not have the same issue with Monzo. He has been waiting for a replacement debit card since September, now 3 months. They keep saying it has been sent but it never arrives. We have gone so far as to send him things through the post to make sure the postal system works and they arrived next day. What a terrible way to treat a young student away from home for the first time. He has spoken to several staff but they just don’t care.
