Direct line Car Insurancce.Hah

My daughter did all the right things to cancel my insurance. She received confirmation and I received clearance that all was ok. And I forgot all about it. Since then I have received 2 letters both dated the same and both quoted me and were addressed to me & were sorry I had left Direct Line Insurance. Both times we had confirmation with dated letters (Quite prepared to Show) Today was the last straw, Direct Line told me I owed for the time I had already cancelled. YOU TELL ME, WHY DID I BOTHER TO CANCEL MY INSRANCE. My wife who is 83+ & me 86- do everything correctly & yesterday my wife was rushed into Northamton General Hospital with undisclosed problems with her Heart following surgery in Leicester, SORT IT OUT & QUICKLY Reviewed on: 11th June 2025

Unscrupulous

When cancelling car insurance (as I no longer had car ) was charged £86 and was verbally assured 3 times that £43 would be returned to me. After I paid up was then told that I wouldn't be case after all. Unscrupulous liars and swindlers .Take your hard earned cash. Crap company

Would not accept cancellation via email. Charged us £30 to cancel over the phone. Really would not recommend, stay well clear. Reviewed on: 13th January 2022

Not worth even one star

What car insurance should be like from the bank that wins awards yearly

Simply brilliant. Why aren't others as good or as easy to understand. Perhaps because FD have pioneered the banking sector (yep despite being owned by HSBC - sic) they adopt that policy with all their products. Are people really scared by different? Reviewed on: 1st August 2016
