Excellent all round!

Excellent all round, but data for tax return a bit difficult to extract. Tremendous value for money. Range of shares offered could be greater but is gradually expanding. App is simple and easy to use. Ability to arrange holdings in alphabetical order would be good. Reviewed on: 15th March 2024

The way in for UK investors

Freetrade has been a breakthrough in the UK investments landscape. Before old fashioned online investment platforms were clunky and expensive, and then came Freetrade with simple terms, fee structure, low cost and great customer and app experience. Reviewed on: 15th March 2024

Great app, great FX rates

I began using Freetrade around the start of 2020. At that stage while the pricing benefits were clear, the platform lacked many securities that I was keen on trading. Fast forward to 2024, the no of securities is a lot larger (but there are still gaps in that the nice ones are under a subscription). What I really like is that the FX spread is far better than those of iweb - which I used to think was easily amongst the lowest in the market. Their app is also very user-friendly. Its returns feature is also very strong - I havent seen that in any other platforms I use (Hargreaves or iWeb). The original benefit - i.e. no trade fees still continues. All in all a great introductory product. Of course you could get cheaper pricing at Trading212 or Investengine but they are probably for very specific users. Reviewed on: 15th March 2024
