Cancelling Policy Without enough warning

I have been asked for my V5 log book in my name. When I asked if the log book could be kept in my partners name customer service said they would have to get back to me. They should have told me at the time I would need to change it or my policy would be cancelled. Or they should have extended the cancellation period whilst i was make enquiries. I only received the cancellation letter 5 days before the cancellation of the policy was due to take place. 1 of these days being a Sunday when i was unable to call customer services. I do no believe this is along enough period to warn someone there policy is being cancelled. I rely on my car for work and without it I may have to give up my job as i will not be able to afford any more insurance with the heighten premium rate from having a policy cancelled. I was unaware that car was not actually in my name and this was an honest mistake when i took the policy out. I had already declared the accidents I have been involved in and am unsure as to how having the car in a different name make me more high risk to insure. I feel like insure you motor/my insurer have been very inflexible and unwilling to help even though I am trying to rectify the problem. Reviewed on: 16th May 2017

Good afternoon, I called up to make sure my email was received in regards to my driver license information and the gentleman I spoke to was more than polite and helpful, he also advised me that on my policy I wasn't covered for any personal injury and I now have added this to my policy, i am extremely happy that he picked up on this and now I can drive feeling at ease for if anything could happen Reviewed on: 7th June 2017
